69´«Ã½ in large, urban districts are more likely to be identified as in need of improvement under the No Child Left Behind Act, compared with those in smaller districts, according to a three-year study sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and released last week.
The study, conducted by the Menlo Park, Calif.-based research institute SRI International’s Center for Education Policy, examined accountability requirements under the federal Title I program for the years 2001 through 2003.
