Dr. Sharon Shewbridge has devoted her love of education and technology to inspiring the students of Virginia Beach City Public School for two decades. Previous positions within the division include Computer Resource Specialist, Assistant Principal, K-12 curriculum coordinator, K-12 instructional coordinator, and K-5 math coordinator. In 2014, Dr. Shewbridge was appointed Principal at Kingston Elementary School where she created and delivered professional development for principals that focused on Unpacking Curriculum Standards, Standards Based Grading, Transformational Learning, and Aligning our School Goals to Transformational Learning. Currently serving as Director of Instructional Technology for Virginia Beach schools, Dr. Shewbridge has turned her talents to motivating and mentoring the next generation of instructional technology specialists. Dr. Shewbridge earned her undergraduate degree in English from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and was awarded both her Master’s and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech.
