AG Who Opposed NCLB is Projected Senate Winner in Conn.

CNN is projecting that Richard Blumenthal, the Democratic attorney general who sued the federal government over the No Child Left Behind Act, has beaten Linda McMahon, the former World Wrestling Entertainment chief executive officer, for an open U.S. Senate seat in Connecticut.

Blumenthal filed the suit back in 2005, calling the law an unfunded mandate. On his campaign website, he continues to call for a of the law.

McMahon, a former state school board member, to see “choice and competition” through expansion of charter schools.
