Washington Supreme Court Rules Charter 69´«Ã½ Unconstitutional

After almost a year of deliberation, .

This is the first time in the country that a state Supreme Court has struck down a charter school law, according to the National Alliance for Public Charter 69´«Ã½.

The decision leaves hundreds of families in limbo whose children have already started school at one of the state’s nine charter schools.

Voters approved the state’s charter school law by a small margin in 2012. The , and another eight started up last month.
